Rolls Royce Distributed Generation Systems is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

You will be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably Chartered, with experience in the packaging and integration of electro-mechanical machines. Experience of using 3D design software, preferably Autodesk Inventor 2011, is essential. The ability to undertake Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis (DFA) would be advantageous, as would an appreciation of Design for Manufacturing/Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) and an understanding of the importance of cost during the design process.

All positions require experience of project management and a demonstrable ability to deliver on time and within budget – Prince2 experience would be advantageous. Degree qualified or equivalent, you’ll be expected to justify, analyse and document key decisions within the design process and to undertake system level testing to verify performance against customer requirements.
