COPY SPECIFICATION & MECHANICAL DATA

We prefer to receive all files in PDF version 1.3 format using the pass4press standard (see www.pass4press.com). Supplying your files as PDF will reduce delivery cost and provide better security. Using a digital workflow helps to improve the quality of reproduction. (Adobe Indesign PDFs are not acceptable at present).

If you are unable to supply your file as PDF, you may supply your file as one of the following formats, which are listed in order of preferance:

Tiff/jpeg:   CMYK minimum 300dpi

Illustrator/Freehand or Corel Draw:   eps (with all fonts converted to Paths)

Photoshop EPS:   (with all layers flattened and rasterised) Do not use JPEG encoding on EPS files

Quark Express:   up to Version 6.5

All images must be a minimum of 300dpi and all colours and images must use the CMYK colour spec. RGB/Lab colours, Pantones, etc are not valid colour specs for print. Any picture, logo, etc must be the size that they appear on the advertisement and not compressed using your design package scale routine.

Typefaces

Although we hold an extensive number of fonts, this does not guarantee that we have every typeface. If in doubt, please contact us before sending a file that contains any unusual or not often used fonts; or to be sure, CONVERT FONTS TO OUTLINE using the appropriate software before sending. This will avoid any unnecessary problems.

If we do not hold the required font we will attempt to replace it with a similar font, but Centaur Media cannot guarantee the correct reproduction of all texts if fonts are missing.

Supplying your files

We are able to receive your files from CD, alternatively we prefer you to supply your files by email to emma.griffin@centaur.co.uk. A full colour proof must be supplied with each advertisement and each package must contain the following information: Name of Advertiser, software package used clearly stated,contact name and telephone number.

ALL files MUST be sent in FOLDERS clearly marked for the publication and issue date that they are to appear in, in the folowing format: PUBLICATION/ISSUE DATE/ADVERTISERS NAME.

MWP advanced manufacturing Magazine is published six times a year - January, March, May, July, September, November - plus occasional, extra issues/publications (as notified by the Publisher).

Copy Date is four weeks prior to publication.
